Physical exfoliation buffs and polishes your skin to achieve a healthy glow. It also helps to alleviate fine lines, pigmentation, acne, dull and dry skin. Microdermabrasion is a virtually painless procedure that uses a blend of abrasion and suction to reveal a fresher and a younger looking skin in just one treatment.
Microdermabrasion is considered a perfect way to polish and sculpt your way back to perfection without any downtime.
Chemical Peels are topically applied acids that aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin’s surface by reducing blotchy and uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, freckling, age spots. The Peels accelerate the production of new cells. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin. Depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated allowing new growth to be exposed, creating a fresh vibrant appearance.
Approximately every 28 days we create a new layer of skin. As new cells form they push their way to the surface. As we age this process slows down leading to the appearance of older skin with less radiance. If the skin does not shed properly, dead cells settle on the surface causing clogged pores, a bumpy uneven texture, breakouts and a dull appearance.
How does Microdermabrasion work?
This gentle exfoliation is performed with a jet of fine mineral crystals passing over the skin's surface by creating a gentle vacuum. The crystals lay on the skin along with the dead/damaged skin cells. The crystals gently exfoliate approximately 20-25 microns of dead skin cells of the outermost layer (stratum corneum). Once removed it reveals one's own fresher, younger looking skin beneath.
Who can benefit from a microdermabrasion treatment?
Men and women of any skin type or colour. Anyone with aged, congested, flaky, dry, devitalized, thickened, blemished, dull and sun damaged skin will experience a rejuvenated and refreshed complexion. Blotchiness, uneven skin tones and texture will also be improved.
What are pre-treatment protocols before a chemical peel?
It is best to prepare the skin using Proderm home care products prior to treatment to avoid the chance of negative reactions and to obtain maximum results.& You should be cleansing twice daily and moisturizing once or twice daily while applying sunscreen everyday.
What are post peel instructions?
After receiving a chemical peel, avoid sun exposure as much as possible when healing. Do not pick or peel the skin as these actions can cause scarring. Avoid excessive exercise for 24-48 hours post treatment as well.
What should I expect after having a chemical peel?
Some people experience peeling two to four days after the procedure. Peeling, stinging, burning, skin tightness and itching is normal during the treatment. The peel solution remains on the skin for 2-3 minutes.
What are the chemicals used for the chemcial peel treatments?
Chemical Peels are made of Alphahydroxy acids. Alphahydroxy acids are water soluble acids which have been used for years for skin rejuvenation. These are naturally occurring acids found in fruits and other foods. They are used in many concentrations, however, commonly used to formulate the lightest of peels. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin. AHA peels may be used to treat fine lines, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne.
